Tonias EngineersTMTonias Engineers provides services for large diameter deep and shallow rock tunnels, deep drop shafts and energy dissipating structures; and (i) infrastructure rehabilitation of urbanized areas and development of new communities. Elias C. Tonias, P.E., Project Manager, of the Combined Sewer Overflow Abatement Program for Rochester, New York was responsible for managing and overseeing the: (a) development of structural, geotechnical and hydraulic project design criteria, guidelines and standards; (b) establishment and coordination of geotechnical exploration programs; (c) preparation of standard construction specifications; (d) preparation of environmental and cultural resources assessments; (e) mathematical hydraulic modeling of the system and physical modeling and testing of drop and energy dissipating structures; (f) development and conduct of an extensive public participation program; (g) preparation of the right-of-way easements; and (h) coordination of the final design of ten major sections of the program.
